Happily, The Song of India is indeed a harmonious and yet pleasingly progressive melody. The building — an exquisitely restored and tastefully furnished colonial bungalow — simply oozes well-bred charm and the menu showcases the best of the subcontinent’s regional cuisines, from gilawat kebabs (pan-seared lamb patties enriched with cardamom, ground rose petals and raw papaya), to lobster moiley (pan-seared lobster in a lemon and chilli marinade served with Kerela
moiley sauce). Master chef Milind Sovani makes his winning brand of modern Indian cuisine seem so delightfully easy.
